
We just recently held our very first Women’s EmpowHERment Workshop at Amerikick Delran! Why is women’s empowerment so important to us? Women should prioritize their mental and physical health for many reasons including:
Overall Well-being
Taking time for mental and physical health helps women maintain overall well-being. It reduces stress, anxiety, and the risk of developing mental health disorders, leading to a better quality of life.

Physical Health
Regular physical activity is essential for cardiovascular health, maintaining a healthy weight, maintaining or building muscle, and reducing the risk of chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension. Exercise also boosts the immune system and increases energy levels.

Mental Health
Just as the body needs exercise, the mind needs relaxation and stress relief. Taking time for mental health activities such as meditation, mindfulness, exercise, or hobbies can reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety.
Stress Reduction
Women often juggle multiple roles and responsibilities, which can lead to high levels of stress. Taking time for self-care activities, whether it’s exercise, reading, or spending time in nature, can significantly reduce stress levels.
Improved Relationships
When women are mentally and physically healthy, they are better equipped to handle challenges in relationships. They can communicate more effectively and are generally more patient and understanding.

Taking breaks for physical and mental health activities can improve focus and productivity. Regular exercise has been shown to enhance cognitive function, enabling women to perform better in their personal and professional lives.
Better Sleep
Regular exercise and relaxation techniques can improve sleep quality. Quality sleep is essential for overall health, as it allows the body and mind to rest, repair, and rejuvenate.

Confidence

Also, learning self-defense adds another layer of confidence because you know you can protect yourself or can get out of an unwanted situation. When women feel good about their physical health and safety, it often translates into increased confidence and a positive self-image.

Prevention and Management of Health Issues
Taking time for physical health activities can prevent various health issues such as obesity, heart disease, and osteoporosis. For those with existing health conditions, exercise and mental health practices can be part of the management plan.
